1st!

I agree but disagree on Daley being out of the lineup to give Määttä or Hainsey a spot.

Tbh Mark Streit has been bad. He's our 7th-8th D.

My top 6:

Dumoulin-Letang
Cole-Schultz
Daley-Hainsey

Määttä-Streit

Getting No. 2 in the division should be the focus now. Hopefully Letang is back on Wednesday

@Barnaby: Daley has been worse than Maatta this year and Streight hasn't been that bad. I'd play both over Daley.

I wouldn't. Daley is a better player than both. Let the guy heal and get some practice time.

Määttä has been terrible. Daley can move the puck and score occasionally.

Not a Pens fan of course, but I agree with what Ryan is saying here. In fact, given the injuries you guys had last year, I was sort of expecting Pens hot run not to last nearly as long as it did (that's a compliment, if you couldn't tell).

Givent hat Daley and Maatta have played the majority of their ice time together as a pairing, I honestly don't think you can say one has been better than the other. If I had my choice, it would probably be Maatta in the lineup over Daley. It's tough, because I'm usually with you on the scoring part (Maatta can move the puck too, skating the puck out of danger is his issue, IMO), but I just think Maatta is a more complete defenseman than Daley. I dunno, who cares? At this point, the pens need a lot of help on the health front... too difficult to gauge what's gonna happen. hahahaha

Any word on what Sheary's injury is? I can't see him out long if it was the pass block on Giroux last night that did it.

Just to note on the Simmonds elbow: that should def. have been a penalty.

I don't think it was intentional, although it looks bad in super slow mo, but he seemed genuinely concerned after he saw him go down. Dumoulin has 2 inches on him and Simmonds didn't leave his skates, and I think Simmonds was looking to contact the chest and didn't expect Dumo's head to be that low. Regardless of intent, that should be a penalty, and I think Simmonds should get 1 game, again, regardless of intent. But, since there was no injury, there won't be any suspension.

Only if he takes a discount! He can be the keeper of the binkys for our D prospects and distribute them in the locker room.

But we are always told the league protects the Pens and the Pens get all the calls.

Those are huge losses..

Geez

hurt-Crosby-hurt
hurt-hurt-Kessel
Kunitz-Bonino-Hörnqvist
Wilson-Cullen-Rust

I'm considering Hagelin/Kessel as Malkin's wings since they were pretty good together.

The Pens don't, but their superstars (as well as other team's superstars) do.

You honestly believe that Crosby gets protection from refs in the NHL? No other league in the world allows its players to get abused away the NHL allows their stars to get abused.

The silver lining in all of this could be dropping down to the #1 WC spot and having all our players being healthy for the start of playoffs. Dare to dream...
